The 2019/20 Team


Lodge Meetings

Held on the Friday after the 2nd Wednesday from October to May. We tile at 18:30, Installations at 17:30.

The dates of our meetings for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons were:

  • October 11th 2019 : (17:30) Installation of W.Bro Julian Brown
  • November 15th 2019 :  1st Degree Ceremony (Rehearsal  Mon 4th)
  • December 13th 2019:  : 1st Degree Ceremony (Rehearsal  Mon 2nd)
  • January 11th 2020 : No Ceremony – BURNS NIGHT, ladies to Dine.
  • February 14th 2020 : 3rd Degree Ceremony – Past Masters (Rehearsal  Mon  3rd)
  • March 13th 2020 : 3rd Degree Ceremony – (Rehearsal  Mon 2nd)

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, our programme was severely disrupted and 11 of our meetings, from April 2020 to May 2021, had to abandoned. We were unable to install the Master Elect (Bro David Trotter) in October 2020. Thus WBro Julian Brown and the 2019 officers remained in post until we were able to meet again in October 2021.

  • October 15th 2021 : (17:30)  Installation  of Bro David Trotter.  

Proposed Fraternal Visits

  • Planned Vists to :  The Lodge of Agriculture in Yatton and  Backwell Lodge in Nailsea, were unable to go ahead due to COVID restrictions.

Masters Charities :  £??? donated as follows :

  •  Prostrate cancer UK
  • ???

We donated £?? to the following worthy causes :

  • £200  – Wrington & Burrington Scout and Guide Group
  • £250 –  Towards a Defibrulator at Hangstones Playing Fields, Yatton
  • £?? – North Somerset Masonic Widows association
  • £450 – Clevedon and District Foodbank  (includes £200 match funding from Province of Somerset (Masonic Charities Fund-Match Funding).
  • £200 – Yatton Community Meals – run by Jonny Burnet, using the Butchers Arms (Yatton) kitchens.  Free meals to vulnerable people during the Covid 19 lockdown.  
  • £?? – Woodspring Widows

Dave Trotter, our Master Elect) handing over the £450 cheque to a member of the Clevedon and District Foodbank staff.  They have foodbanks in Clevedon, Portishead, Nailsea and offer food parcels to people living in those towns and the surrounding area.

SOCIAL CALENDAR

  • January 11th 2020 : No Ceremony – BURNS NIGHT, ladies to Dine.
  • February 28 & 29th 2020 : Ladies Festival, Falmouth

The planned events :  Quiz Night at Yatton Masonic Hall (March)  and the Bristol Harbour Boat Trip (June) had to be cancelled due to Covid restrictions

Yatton Remembrance Sunday 2020

Due to COVID, the Yatton Remembrance Sunday was  significantly scaled back. 

On remembrance Sunday, there would normally be a march to the Yatton memorial garden and wreaths laid by the various other local organisations. This year there was no march or large gathering at the garden.
